The Dak gold mine is located in southern margin of the Truong Son-Da Nang Metallogenic Belt in Laos,in which few regional geological work is carried out.In order to clarify the prospecting direction of the study area, the geochemical survey of 1∶50,000 river sediment was carried out for the first time in this area, and a total of 836 samples were collected,of which 19 elements were analyzed and tested.Through correlation and factor analysis, the element anomalies were divided into four groups:F1(Cu-Cr-V-Ti),F2(W-Mo-Bi),F3(Au)and F4(Sn).Meanwhile 17 comprehensive anomalies are delineated, among which DJ5,DJ12,DJ10,DJ14,and DJ6 anomalies have the features of high intensity, large scale,well-lapped forms and great prospecting potential.Based on the geological characteristics of ore deposits and the geochemical characteristics of river sediments in the area, three prospecting target areas were delineated, including magmatic hydrothermal tungsten-snbismuth-molybdenum deposit,copper-chromium-nickel-vanadium-titanium deposit, and epithermal low-temperature gold deposit. This indicates the next direction for mineral exploration and provides a reference for future work in the southern region of Laos.
