摘　　要：伦敦大学学院海伦·哈克特教授的著作《伊丽莎白时代的心灵:在不确定的时代寻找自我》的出版,是2022年英国早期现代学术界的一件大事。该书以把握古今时代脉搏的“心灵”一词串起伊丽莎白世界的图景,客观地陈列了哲学、宗教、文化、文学的文献,通过大量一手资料,还原了伊丽莎白时代活跃且矛盾的不同的思想系统。该书是一本能帮助学者鸟瞰伊丽莎白时代的工具书。本文通过梳理该书的“激情书写”和“女性心灵”两个话题,展示使用该书做研究的两种可能性,以探讨该书对学者群体的实用性。该书是为数不多的、站在中立角度且全面介绍伊丽莎白时代的专著。The publication of The Elizabethan Mind by Professor Helen Hackett features a major event in British early modern academia in 2022.Using the epochal buzzword“mind,”the book weaves together a comprehensive picture of the Elizabethan world by presenting a neutral and impartial compilation of philosophical,religious,cultural,and literary works,restoring the diverse and contradictory thought systems that characterised the Elizabethan era.The Elizabethan Mind also guides researchers to a panoramic view of the Elizabethan era.This review reconfigures the topics of“passion writings”and“female minds”to showcase a scholarly endeavour to extract research materials from the book.The Elizabethan Mind stands out as one of the rare kinds that can introduce the Elizabethan world in a comprehensive and neutral manner.
