摘　　要：薛福成曾长期在曾国藩、李鸿章幕府历练,又有在江苏书局编校典籍的出版实践,这些经历为他适应、接纳和利用新的媒介生态创造了条件,并深刻影响到其外交实践和出使日记的写作。他具有鲜明的编辑思维和文体创新意识,出使日记以“采新闻”和“稽旧牍”为基本原则,别创“新闻体日记”和“日记体新闻”的叙述策略,成为体例严谨、内容丰富、叙述精当的日记范本。薛福成出使日记突破了传统的传播模式,逐步走向商业化的出版、营销与推广。读者群体从上层官员向普通知识分子和一般读者群体扩散,产生持续和广泛的社会影响,拓展了出使日记的政治功能,最终成为经世致用的经典文本。Xue Fucheng had been an aide of Zeng Guofan and Li Hongzhang for a long time.He also was an editor of ancient books in Jiangsu Bookstore.These made him willing to adapt to,accept and take advantage of new media.And his experience also deeply influenced his diplomatic activities and the writing of his diary as an ambassador.He had a distinct mindset as an editor,and the consciousness of renewing the writing style.Based on the principles of“gathering the news”and“collecting old documents”,his diary created the narrating strategy of“diary in a news style”and“news in a diary style”.It became an excellent example of diary which is rigid in the style,rich in the content,and precise in the statement.Xue Fucheng’s diplomatic diary broke through the traditional way of dissemination,and stepped towards commercial publishing,marketing and promotion.Its readership expanded from the top officials to ordinary intellectuals and common readers,exerting long-lasting and wide influence.It enriched the political function of diplomatic diaries,and became a classic text in the field of the statecraft.
