Radiation combined injury(RCI)is referred to conditions which radiation injury is coupled with other insults such as burns, blast, wounds,or infection.RCI often occurs as major injuries during nuclear weapon explosion in the war as well as severe nuclear accidents in peacetime.Treatment of RCI is one troublesome problem because of both systemic aggravating effects and local delayed wound healing.Previously, some research institutes have focused on RCI and made important contributions to understanding the combined effects and setting treatment strategy. In the aspect of medical treatment, several drugs have been selected and identified as therapeutic drugs for improving animal survived rate, and the concept of poly-pharmacy approach has been verified. In the aspect of treating delayed wound healing of RCI,both cell therapy and intervention means aiming regulating wound inflammation have been proved effective. In future, the new theory, new technology and new model should be introduced to RCI research field, then promote in-depth study of RCI.
