摘　　要：中世纪英国文学对天气符号的书写映照出人的存在现状和精神世界。本文旨在回归语境,从生态历史主义的角度出发,研究中世纪英国作家对天气符号的想象和再现方式、人们具备的气象知识和对不同天气符号的解读及回应,挖掘特定天气的情节推动和文化传承功用。天气符号的书写不仅反映出人们日常生活和天气或气候变化之间的关系,折射出12到15世纪英国的气候渐变过程,而且展示了希腊罗马神话、占星术和天文学、基督教话语在人们对天气现象的解读中扮演的角色,呈现出中世纪英国人在多元文化主义背景下的存在情境和精神气候。The writings about weather symbols in medieval English literature have mirrored human existence and their spiritual world.The paper aims to contextualize the symbols from the perspective of eco-historicism to study the ways how medieval English writers imagined and represented these weather symbols,people's meteorological knowledge and interpretations of and responses to different weather symbols,and to explore the function of certain weather in plot development and cultural transmission.The writings about weather symbols not only reveal the relation between people's daily lives and weather or climate change and embody the climate evolution in England from 12th to 15th century,but also highlight the roles which Greco-Roman mythology,astrology and astronomy as well as Christianity played in decoding weather symbols,and unveil the existential situation and spiritual climate of medieval English people in the context of multiculturalism.
