Retinal vein occlusion(RVO)is one of the common retinal vascular diseases in clinical practice, which belongs to the category of"sudden visual loss due to blood statis in the collaterals"in Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM).It is believed that its onset is often closely related to Qi stagnation and blood stasis, phlegm and blood stasis blocking the collaterals, blood heat hurting collaterals, etc.,and patients are often accompanied with anxiety and depression to varying degrees, which is related to"depression syndrome"in TCM.ZHU Danxi firstly put forward the theory of"six depressions",stating that"When Qi and blood flow together in harmony, all diseases will not arise;once there is irritable depression, all diseases arise."Furthermore, over time, the stagnation syndrome leads to deficiency and damage in all organs, with even more deficiency in Qi,blood,Yin and Yang, which can further exacerbate the condition.Guided by the theory of"six depressions",this paper puts forward the treatment of RVO from the perspective of depression,in order to provide new treatment ideas for clinical doctors.
