“华夏”称谓的构词及语义模式——兼论族称“华”的意义

摘　　要：族群称谓“华夏”是同义并列式复合词,不是偏正式复合词。“华夏”的语义模式为“凸显特征+事物类”,“华”是凸显复合词“华夏”的“盛丽”这个特征的非类义语素。“盛丽”是“华”的内涵评价义,反映的是华夏族群所属的语言社团对“华”所指称的客观对象“花”的主观性认识。族称“华”源于“花”义的隐喻引申,指称“盛丽的”“中国(中原)之人”,与“华夏”同义。The ethnic group’s appellation Huaxia(华夏)is a synonymous coordinate compound word,rather than a subordinate compound word.The semantic model of Huaxia(华夏)is“distinguishing features+category of things”,and Hua(华)is a morpheme that highlights large and beautiful features of the compound word Huaxia(华夏).Large and beautiful is the connotation evaluation meaning of Hua(华),which refl ects the subjective understanding of the fl ower by the language community to which the Huaxia(华夏)ethnic group belongs.The ethnic name Hua(华)is derived from the metaphorical extended meaning of the meaning of fl ower,which refers to the great and beautiful people of Central Plain.Hua(华)and Huaxia(华夏)are synonyms.
