“冷香丸”制服“热毒症”--论薛宝钗人生悲剧的象征性表现

摘　　要：《红楼梦》的很多描写是象征性的,多种象征结合在一起又会形成一种象征结构,即结构性的象征,从而使象征产生更阔大深邃的思想力量。曹雪芹在薛宝钗的形象塑造中正是通过这样一种结构性的象征完整地表现宝钗从憧憬人生自由到服膺封建礼教的变化过程。“冷香丸”制服“热毒症”的原型性象征形成一种对应性结构。在这种对应结构中,那个用封建礼教压抑宝钗个人生命自由与爱情向往的“转变仪式”就如同用“冷香丸”制服“热毒症”。曹雪芹在宝钗、黛玉的两个截然不同的药方中隐喻现实社会:宝钗的“冷香丸”象征封建礼教对人性的压抑,而黛玉的不足之症和“人参养荣丸”则象征那个时代缺少人性关爱。薛宝钗恰恰是以压抑甚至完全牺牲自己的生命价值为代价来践行封建礼教,并以此成为封建社会的典范与楷模。Many of the descriptions in A Dream of Red Mansion are symbolic,and the combination of various symbols forms a symbolic structure,which is a structural symbol,thus giving the symbol greater and deeper ideological power.It is through this structural symbol that Cao Xueqin portrays the complete trans‐formation of Xue Baochai from longing for life freedom to adhering to feudal ethics in his portrayal of Xue Baochai.The prototype symbol of“cold fragrance pill”unifies“heat toxicity”,forming a corresponding structure.In this corresponding structure,the“transformation ceremony”that suppressed Baochai’s person‐al life freedom and love yearning with feudal ethics is equivalent to using“cold fragrance pills”to subdue“heat toxicity”.Cao Xueqin symbolized a unified thing in the two completely different prescriptions of Bao‐chai and Daiyu:Baochai’s“cold fragrance pill”symbolized the suppression of human nature by feudal eth‐ics,while Daiyu’s deficiency and“ginseng nourishing pill”symbolized the lack of human care in that era.Xue Baochai precisely practiced feudal ethics at the cost of suppressing or even completely sacrificing her own life value,and thus became a model and model of that era.
