摘　　要：Songshan Mountain,located in the northwest reaches of Dengfeng,!Henan Province,is one of China's Five Sacred Mountains.The mountain is a geological range punctuated by the Taishi and Shaoshi mountains in the east and west respectively.Its main peak stands at an elevation of 1,512 metres(m),affording a view overlooking other peaks in the range that resembles a giant lying down.Yuan Hongdao(1568-1610),a well-known scholar from the Ming Dynasty(1368-1644),remarked that Songshan Mountain looked like a slender Chinese dragon.Impressing visitors with its natural scenery,the mountain is marked by 8 scenic attractions and 12 scenic features made up of peaks,valleys,creeks,waterfalls,springs and forests.
