摘　　要：Jia Dao(AD 779-843),a poet of the Tang Dynasty(AD 618-907),was uniquely talented.His verse"The birds repose in trees nearthepond;/Amonk istapping the gate by moonlight"inspired a thousand years of debate over which word is better:"tui"(pushing")or"qiao"("tapping").Today,the choice of words here is stilla source of lively discussion.By comparison,his poem"Swordsman"captures themood naturally and directly,showinga distinctive style."Forten years I've honed a sword;/Its sharpness waits to be tested./Today I show it to you;/Who's been unfairly treated?"
