摘　　要：Hebei bangzi,an important branch of traditional clapper opera,is stll frequently performed.The offshoot is defined by ioud and sonorous singing,integrating the local customs and tunes of Hebei,Tianjin and Beijing;its themes are drawn primarily from historical events and social realties.Hebei bangzi appeared during the reign of Qing Emperor Daoguang(1821-1851),giving it a history of more than two centuries.During the reign of Emperor Guangxu(1875-1908),Hebei bangzi circulated throughout Hebei.
