摘　　要：Alook back on the history of European nobility reveals the exceedingly honourable standing of the House of Habsburg.Descended from the Duke of Alsace of the 6th century,the House of Habsburg eventuallyextended its powerto Aargau in West Switzerland,where in 1020 it built Habsburg Castle,the family's citadel.Spreading its influence step.by step,the family's reach came to the west bankoftheRhine.Overthe next nearly 300 years,the House of Habsburg continued to grow,ruling Germany and Austria until the newly-founded Swiss Federation expanded to south Germany and took Habsburg Castle in the 14th century.
