摘　　要：In 1985,the World Heritage Committee oficially inscribed the-Historic Areas of Istanbul,featuring a variety of traditional buildings from different periods and artistic styles,on the World Heritage List.AS a"unique testimony of Byzantine and Ottoman civilisations,"the Historic Areas of Istanbul marks a collection of ancient and artistically diversifed national buildings.From the magnificent Hagia Sophia to the sacred Suleymaniye Mosque,these buildings have surfaced from diferent historical depths and left behind mysterious and fascinating legacies for future generations to understand.
