摘　　要：The ancient city of Samarkand is the second largest city in the Republic of Uzbekistan,coming through war and peace,prosperity and decline to arrive at the present day.Although it may no longer be a match for the new capital of Tashkent in terms of modern politics and economy,Samarkand-aonetimecentreofculture and commerce-still takes pride in its incomparable historical and cultural legacy.
