摘　　要：鸦片战争后大批西方人在殖民欲望的驱使下,来到台湾地区旅行、探险、传教、经商等,并留下大量关于台湾地区少数民族的记录文本,从而建构了西方人视野中的台湾地区少数民族形象。台湾地区“熟番”“平埔番”等少数民族被建构为“半开化”形象,而“生番”“野番”、傀儡番等则被建构为“未开化”形象。前者被西方人视为可以利用的“朋友”,后者则被视为西方“文明”的敌人,欲剿除而后快。西方人所建构的台湾地区少数民族形象背后,承载了殖民台湾地区的欲望与企图。After the Opium War,a large number of Westerners,driven by colonial desires,came to Taiwan region for travel,exploration,missionary work,business and other activities,and left a large number of records about Taiwan's region ethnic minorities,thus constructing the image of Taiwan's region ethnic minorities in the eyes of Westerners.Minorities such as“Shu Fan”and“Pingpu Fan”in Taiwan region were constructed as“semi-civilized”images,while“Sheng Fan”,“Ye Fan”and Puppet Fan as“uncivilized”images.The former waslabeled as available“friends”for the sake of Westerners,while the latter as enemies of Western“civilization”to be eliminated.Behind the image of Taiwan's region ethnic minorities constructed by Westerners lay their desire and attempt to colonize Taiwan region .
