摘　　要：Located at the northern foot of Qilian Mountain in Gansu Province,Zhangye Danxia National Geoparkis known for its colourful danxia landforms.The Chinese characters"丹霞"(danxia)originate from a poem titled"Lotus Pond"by Cao Pi(AD 187-226),and translate to mean"rosy clouds in the sky"There are various types of danxia landscapes in southeast,southwest and northwest China,and they are mostly characterised by a red bed and steep cliffs.
