摘 要:食物是小说《盲刺客》的一个重要叙事元素。在女主人公艾丽丝回忆家族史的过程中,有大量关于食物的描写,提供了深层隐喻:食物隐喻着不同角色的自我延伸,助人物于无意有意中构建真实自我;通过投射和内向投射,作为补偿机制出现的食物延伸着人们的情感诉求,有时以近乎成瘾的形式外显,实质隐喻的是一种存在焦虑。玛格丽特·阿特伍德依靠潜藏在主流历史下的女性/民族双重叙事,在“吃”与“被吃”之间隐喻着加拿大的民族焦虑,并借由小说结局给出了自己的解答。Food is a significant narrative element in The Blind Assassin.As Iris recollects her family history through writing,there are a lot of depictions about food providing some deep metaphors:food implies the extended selves of different characters,conducive to constructing themselves unintentionally and consciously;food also appears as a compensatory mechanism,and through projection and introjection,food extends people’s emotional appeals,sometimes almost in the form of addiction,essentially an existential anxiety.Furthermore,Margaret Atwood uses the female-national narratives that lie beneath the dominant history to give the metaphor of the national anxiety of Canada between“eating”and“being eaten”,thus giving her own solution through the ending.
