Based on the 16 coal resource-based regions from 2009 to 2021,focusing on the relationship between the coal industry, ecological environment and residents’health, using the entropy method and the mediation effect model to analysis the impact the crossregional transfer of the coal industry will bring on residents’health is“surprise”or“concealment”.The research results show that:(1)the economic development of the coal industry is not conducive to the improvement of the health level of the residents, and has an inverted“U-shaped”nonlinear relationship;(2)the ecological environment plays a partial mediating role in the relationship between the coal industry and the health of the residents;(3)The non-linear impact of coal industry on residents’health and the mediating effect of ecological environment are different due to differences in coal transfer behavior across regions.Coal industry in the region where the crossregional transfer to the region promotes the improvement of residents’health as a whole is in a“U-shaped”nonlinear relationship of coal, and the mediation effect is no longer significant in the coal transfer area.
