摘  要:Maize(Zea mays)and sorghum(Sorghum bicolor)are closely related crops and share a common ancestor dating back approximately 12 million years.Maize underwent a whole-genome duplication event 5-12 million years ago,leading to two sub-genomes with biased gene fractions(Schnable et al.,2011).These two crops,differing in some key agronomic traits,offered a unique opportunity to investigate plant cellular evolution and the impact of gene duplications on cellular divergence related to key traits.
