中美媒体关于北京冬奥会体育新闻报道及物性对比分析——以China Daily和New York Time谷爱凌获得首金新闻报道为例  

A Comparative Analysis of Transitivity of the Sports News Reports of Beijing Winter Olympics in Sino-US Media——Taking Gu Ailing’s Wining the First Gold News Reports in China Daily and New York Time as Examples

摘　　要：本文以Halliday的系统功能语言学及物性系统理论为研究框架,选取中国日报(China Daily)英文版和纽约时报(New York Time)分别对2022年北京冬奥会中国运动员谷爱凌获得首金的新闻报道为研究语料,分析及物性过程在中美媒体报道中的体现和异同。研究结果显示,中国日报中各种过程聚焦奥运会本身,体现体育精神,而纽约时报侧重报道运动员个人成长背景,旨在引起舆论风波。看似客观的体育新闻报道其实隐含了报道者的主观立场和意识形态。因此,英语学习者应具有对国外媒体新闻报道的批判性阅读意识。Taking Halliday’s systematic functional linguistics and physical system theory as the research framework,this paper selects the news report of China Daily and New York Time on the first gold medal of Chinese athlete Gu Ailing at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics as the research material,and analyzes the similarities and differences of the transitivity of reports in Sino-US media.The results of the study show that various processes in the China Daily focus on the Olympic Games themselves and reflect the spirit of sportsmanship,while the New York Time focuses on reporting the background of the athletes'personal growth,aiming to cause a public opinion storm.Seemingly objective sports news actually imply the subjective positions and ideologies of the reporters.Therefore,English learners should have a critical reading awareness of foreign media news.
