从戏曲语言的音乐性探究越剧《红楼梦》的英译——多模态语料库的个案分析

摘　　要：音乐性是戏曲语言的一大特征,不仅表现在唱词的音韵和节奏上,也蕴含在戏曲表演的动作和情感上,具有多模态整合特点,因而戏曲翻译研究可借鉴多模态视角。以越剧《红楼梦》古戏楼版国际网络直播(中英双语字幕)的音视频材料自建多模态语料库,对比分析字幕唱词英译的音乐性特点。研究发现:音韵方面,英译押韵较好,保留了上口性特征,但在表现情感变化上有欠缺;节奏方面,译文能做到和原文近似,但在结合舞台动作上存在唱词与动作指向不太合拍甚至相反的情况。今后在深化戏曲翻译的多模态研究和推动戏曲文化对外传播方面,建议:提高多模态文本标注的客观性;对比英文音节和音步的抑扬节奏,可考虑参照戏曲板式和曲谱的细致参数进行多模态文本标注;探索更为合理的音高和音长分析;融入更多戏曲听觉视觉参数进行多模态分析。The language of traditional Chinese operas is characterized by its musicality,which is not only presented in its rhyme and rhythm but also in the actions and emotions of performers,with a multi-modal feature.Therefore,the study of traditional Chinese opera translation can draw on a multi-modal perspective.With a self-built multi-modal corpus of audiovisual material of Yue opera Dream of Red Mansions,this paper comparatively analyzes the musical features of the English translation of the lyrics subtitle of the Yue opera.It is found that English translation has good rhyme in terms of phonology and retains catchy features,but lacks in expressing emotional changes.In terms of rhythm,the translation can be similar to the original text,but there are some situations where the lyrics and action directions are not in sync or even opposite when combined with the stage performance.Finally,some suggestions are put forward to deepen the multi-modal study of opera translation and to facilitate the spread of opera culture abroad,which include:(1)improving the objectivity of multi-modal text annotation;(2)taking into account the parameters of music scores of traditional Chinese opera in multi-modal text annotation in view of the iambic rhythm of English syllables and feet;(3)exploring more reasonable pitch and length analysis;(4)incorporating more traditional opera auditory and visual parameters in the multi-modal analysis.
