Objective To explore the relationship between weight gain rate(WGR)and pregnancy complications, maternal and infant outcomes in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM)in the middle and late pregnancy. Methods A total of 185 patients with GDM in Shenxian People’s Hospital of Shandong Province from January 2020 to April 2022 were selected as the study subjects.According to the WGR in the middle and late pregnancy, they were divided into the slow WGR group(57 cases),the normal WGR group(76 cases),and the fast WGR group(52 cases). The pregnancy complications and the maternal and infant outcomes of patients in each group were compared. Results There was significant difference in the incidence of hypertensive disorders of pregnancy among the three groups(P<0.05),which was the highest in the fast WGR group. There was significant difference in the incidence of macrosomia among the three groups(P<0.05),which was the highest in the fast WGR group. Conclusion The rapid WGR in the middle and late pregnancy promotes the probability of gestational hypertension and macrosomia in patients with GDM.
