摘　　要：美国夸特马属于美国的马品种,擅长四分之一英里或更短距离冲刺,广泛用于西部牛仔、马种展示以及牧场活动,是美国最受欢迎的马种。美国夸特马协会是世界上最大的品种注册机构。文章概述了夸特马的品种概况,包括品种特征、育种历史、育种组织和登记、夸特马赛马、赛道死亡状况、配种费等,以期为国内运动马的育种和市场开发提供参考。The American Quarter horse is an American breed of horse that excels at sprinting short distances of a quarter mile or less,well known for its performance in rodeos,horse shows,and as a working ranch horse,and the most popular breed in the United States.The American Quarter Horse Association is the largest breed registry in the world.This paper summarized the breed profile of the Quarter horses,including breed characteristics,breeding history,breeding organization and registry,Quarter horse racing,fatalities in racing and stud fees,etc,so as to provide a reference for domestic sports horse breeding and marketing.
