摘　　要：美国汉学家司马富在他所著《图绘中华,经纬天下》一书中,以中华外部的“他者”视角,着重考察宋代以来“天下图”的流变及其文化意涵,由此揭示中古以来我国地图创作中所反映的传统天道论与地理观念、政治制度与世界观等诸多特征及演变规律。作者在书中主要运用的中西比较地图学分析方法及其所倡导的广义“文化地图学”理念,对我国历史地图学研究具有启发意义。The paper introduces the study on the evolution and cultural implication of the "World Map" since the Song Dynasty by Prof.Richard J.Smith.In his work Mapping China and Managing the World,Prof.Smith revealed the characteristics and evolution laws of the traditional Chinese theory of cosmology,geographical idea,political system and world view reflected in the ancient "World Map" production in the late Chinese imperial times.And this book presented that comparative historical-cartographical analysis between China and the West,which was thought as an effective way to be used as a kind of illuminating method for the research on the generalized cultural cartography in China.
