摘 要:“乌托邦”所代表的西方空想社会主义思想,是近代中国引入的重要思想资源之一。学者或视其为一种诗学理想,或将其作为一种哲学隐喻,著述丰富。托马斯·莫尔所著《乌托邦》作为承载这一思想的原典,其译史价值却鲜为发掘。本文关注民国初期学人易家钱在1921年对《乌托邦》一书的翻译,从译介背景、译事先导、译文精读三个维度,讨论易译本的历史价值。研究发现:译者将原文结构打破重组,新辟“家族”一章,倡导家族伦理;又因对“新学”的向往,调整了原作中“公有”与“效率”两者的位次关系。易家钱选择性接受空想社会主义思想,以此回应社会改造的现实需要。他在20世纪20年代的学术翻译活动,揭示了民国知识界在家庭议题中的思想变奏。The Western idea of utopian socialism,represented by"utopia",is one of the most important intellectual resources introduced into modern China.Scholars have either regarded it as a poetic ideal or as a philosophical metaphor.Utopia by Thomas More,the original text that carries this idea,has rarely been explored.This article focuses on the translation of Utopia by Yi Jiayue in 1921 and discusses the historical value of Yi's translation from three dimensions:the background,the precursor,and the close reading of the translated text.I argue that the translator reorganized the structure of the original text and created a new chapter called"The Family"to advocate family ethics;he also downgraded"the public ownership"by emphasizing"efficiency"in pursuit of Western knowledge.Yi selectively accepted the idea of idealistic socialism as a response to the need for social transformation.His academic translations in the 1920s reveal the ideological variations of"family"in the Chinese intelligentsia at that time.
