从档案看容闳在台湾地区的地产投资和开矿筹谋

摘　　要：容闳与台湾地区颇有渊源。在台湾地区开埠之初,容闳通过上海中介公司,在基隆购买一处土地和两个煤洞筹划开采煤矿,后因开采煤矿计划失败转将基隆地产交予旅台广东同乡会垂远堂管理收取租金,用于慈善事业。1888年其堂弟容渭泉赴台处理基隆地产,却抵押地契获款后离去,后经广东同乡会交涉赎回。1895年容闳委托钟进成递函交涉产权,未有下文。1898年容闳之侄容尚谦赴台处理,亦未有结果。1901年容闳前往台湾地区处理产业,基隆地产案得以解决。通过梳理容闳投资台湾地区土地和煤矿、委派亲友赴台处理地产,并亲赴台湾地区解决基隆地产案,可以看出容闳等广东人很早就参与台湾地区的开发与建设,亦可见内地与台湾地区长期紧密相连,是不可分割的一个整体。Rong Hong had close ties with Taiwan region.At the beginning of Taiwan region's opening,Rong Hong purchased a piece of land and two coal mines in Keelung through a Shanghai intermediary company and handed them over to Guangdong Fellow Townsmen Association Duiyuan Hall,Chuiyuantang,to manage the collection of rent for charitable purposes.In 1888,Rong Hong's cousin Rong Weiquan went to Taiwan region to deal with Keelung real estate but left after mortgaging the proceeds.The property was later redeemed through negotiations with the Guangdong Fellow Townsmen Association.In 1895,Rong Hong entrusted Zhong Jincheng to negotiate property rights by forwarding letters,but there were no follow-up documents.In 1898,Rong Hong's nephew Rong Shangqian went to Taiwan region to deal with the property but also failed.In 1901,Rong Hong went to Taiwan region to deal with the property himself,and the Keelung property case was finally resolved.By combing through Rong Hong's investment in land and coal mines in Taiwan region,dispatching relatives and friends to Taiwan region to deal with real estate,and going to Taiwan region in person to resolve the Keelung property case,it can be seen that Rong Hong and other cantonese participated in Taiwan region's development and construction very early.It can also be seen that the mainland and Taiwan region island have long been closely connected and are inseparable.
