摘　　要：Resource chemistry is an ancient science.Re-source is the material basis for human survival and so-cial development,and it is the primary condition of sus-tainable development.Although resource chemistry has been formally used as a scientific term for merely two decades,the practice of resource chemistry could trace back to when human beings started utilizing natural re-sources consciously and has never been interrupted since then.Born along with constant progress on resource ex-ploration were chemistry and its many subdisciplines such as inorganic chemistry,organic chemistry,phyto-chemistry,analytical chemistry,mineral chemistry,petro-chemistry,coal chemistry,medicinal chemistry,agricul-tural chemistry,environmental chemistry,green chemis-try,and so on.Phytochemistry,mineral chemistry,petro-chemistry,and coal chemistry all belong to the research category of resource chemistry.Therefore,it is reason-able to consider resource chemistry as an ancient sci-ence.
