摘　　要：英语中由短语、句式合成的词(句)称为Nonce Word(临时造词),这是一种构型独特、色彩鲜明的表达,由连字符贯穿其间,形成一个完整的语言单位,行文紧凑连贯、生动鲜明。本文就新闻报道中出现的此类Nonce Word进行了探讨,针对其语言特色和翻译手法进行较为充分的论述,并指出,因其新颖性、语境性、灵活性以及通俗性等特点,在用于英语新闻报道时,可增强文章的可读性和感染力,利于其普及与传播。English nonce words are unique expressions in news reports,created through the combination of phrases and clauses,and connected by hyphens to form complete language units.These words are characterized by their concise wording,consistent tone,lively rhythm,and vividness.This paper investigates the use of nonce words in news reports,focusing on their linguistic features and translation strategies.The study reveals that when used in English news reports,nonce words enhance readability and appeal.Due to their novelty,contextual nature,uncertainty,flexibility,and widespread usage,these words contribute to the popularization and communicative effectiveness of the text.
