摘　　要：张纯如是美国著名华裔传记作家和历史学家,她非常关注日本侵华战争给中国人民造成的历史性创伤。《南京大屠杀》是她为缅怀南京大屠杀中遇难的同胞而作的民族传记,成为南京大屠杀创伤书写和历史记忆的杰作。张纯如将历史和传记巧妙结合,以日记、图片、回忆录、访谈等多种形式揭示日本侵略者的暴行,并对日本侵华历史进行批判性追溯,从而还原了历史的真相,抨击了日本军国主义者篡改和歪曲历史的企图。她以民族传记为载体,超越了南京大屠杀文学书写的传统范式,充分表现出中国人民的伟大抗战精神,包括忠贞不渝的爱国精神、宁死不屈的民族精神、血战到底的无畏精神和坚忍不拔的斗争精神。这些已经成为中华民族宝贵的精神财富,正激励着中国人民勇往直前。As a Chinese American biographer and historian,Iris Chang concerns more about the Chinese people’s historical trauma caused by the Japanese aggression.In memory of the victimized compatriots in Nanking Massacre,she created The Rape of Nanking as a national biography,which has become a masterpiece for the traumatic writing and historical record of Nanking Massacre.Through the delicate combination of history and biography,she disclosed atrocities of the Japanese aggressors and traced back critically to the Japanese aggression in such forms as diaries,photos,memoirs and interviews,by means of which she recovered the historical truth and attacked the Japanese militarists who attempted to tamper and distort the history.On the other hand,with the national biography as a carrier,she has transcended the traditional paradigm of writing about Nanjing Massacre by reflecting thoroughly the Chinese people’s great spirit of resistance against Japanese aggression,including unswerving patriotism,unyielding nationalism,fighting-to-the-end heroism and indomitable triumphalism,which have become the valuable spiritual wealth of the Chinese people,inspiring them to march forward courageously.
