《字语汇解》与19世纪宁波方言连读变调

摘　　要：《字语汇解》是一部以罗马字注音的宁波方言英汉辞典,该书在每一个多音节词及短语的罗马字注音中均标注有重音符“′”。通过抽取该书所收集词汇与宁波方言连读变调作对比,可以认定该重音符所表示的是词或短语中音高较高的音节。该书是最早对宁波方言声调作出标记的罗马字文献。以重音符为线索,对该书词汇进行调查分析可以看到19世纪宁波方言连读变调与今音的一些异同。The An Anglo-Chinese Vocabulary of the Ningpo Dialect,a bilingual dictionary of English and Ningbo dialect,bears the pronunciation transcription in Roman letters.It is worthy of note that in every polysyllabic word or phrase is notated at least one accent mark“'”.Through comparing the vocabularies selected from this dictionary and the tone sandhi of the contemporary Ningbo dialect,this paper argues that the accent marks denote the syllable of higher pitch.This dictionary is the first Roman literature that marks the tones of Ningbo dialect.Taking accent as the clue,one can find the similarities and differences between the tone sandhi of the contemporary Ningbo dialect and that in the 19th century.
