摘  要:凉州番禾县圣容像是十六国北朝时期,中国北方高僧刘萨诃西行至番禾御谷所预言的八十余年后在这里裂山而出的石像。敦煌石窟中凉州番禾县圣容像的标准形象是右臂直垂于体侧,右手掌心朝外作与愿印,左手于胸前握袈裟衣角,身后表现山岩的立佛造像(倚山立佛像)。在今山西与古凉州等地区发现的唐代类似姿势并且题作“圣容像”的造像,很可能也是凉州番禾县圣容像。The auspicious image(sheng rongxiang 圣容像) of Buddha located at Fanhe in ancient Liangzhou,which is known as a “Fanhe auspicious image” for short(Fanhe ruixiang 禾 县 圣 瑞 像),is a style of stone statue that emerged out of the local mountains eighty years after the famous monk Liu Sahe of the Sixteen Kingdoms period arrived at Fanhe from the east,just as he predicted upon his arrival.The standard Fanhe ruixiang image painted in Dunhuang caves depicts the Buddha standing against a mountain with his right arm perpendicular to his body,his right palm outward in the varada mudra,and his left hand in front of his chest holding a corner of his kasaya.Statues of the Tang dynasty in similar postures that were also labeled “auspicious images”found in contemporary Shanxi province and ancient Liangzhou are likely also Fanheruixiang of the same type.
