摘　　要：美国著名南方作家卡森·麦卡勒斯的小说《金色眼睛的映像》是一部反帝国主义的作品,其以菲律宾男佣安纳克莱托与美国白人的矛盾象征东西方的对峙,通过描写安纳克莱托的被东方化和被西方化,揭露了帝国主义的反动本质。在小说中,安纳克莱托富有同情心且情趣高雅,其与自私冷漠且无知浅薄的美国白人构成了鲜明的对比。麦卡勒斯借此表达了对“西优东劣”思想的反讽,以及对美国的帝国主义行径的批判。The novel Reflections in a Golden Eye by the famous Southern American writer Carson McCullers can be read as a writing of anti-imperialism.It focuses on the contrast between the Orient with the Filipino houseboy Anacleto as a representative and the Occident represented by white Americans.Through depicting Anacleto’s experience of being orientalized and occidentalized,McCullers unmasks the reactionary nature of American imperialism.In the novel,the orientalized Anacleto is actually sympathetic and of good taste,who is,ironically,in stark contrast with the selfish,atrocious,and feeble-minded white Americans.In this way,McCullers satirizes the notion of Occidental superiority and Oriental inferiority,and criticizes America’s imperialistic actions.
