摘  要:现有的坐标旋转数字计算机(CORDIC)算法计算二进指数时,需要采用乘法器进行换底操作,增大了硬件消耗。为了解决此问题,提出了全新的可直接用于计算二进指数的二元双曲旋转CORDIC(BHR CORDIC)算法,得到了定点数指数计算单元,并将其描述成Verilog硬件描述语言(HDL)。基于65 nm互补金属氧化物半导体(CMOS)工艺,对提出的定点数指数计算单元进行综合,结果表明:相较于现有技术,基于BHR CORDIC定点数指数计算单元的超大规模集成电路(VLSI)的实现,可节约11.92%的面积和7.63%的功耗,且频率提升2.45%。The existing coordinate rotation digital computer(CORDIC)algorithm with a base of 2 needs to be calculated,an additional multiplier is needed to execute an operation of changing the base.The introduction of the multiplier increases hardware consumption.To solve the above problems,a new calculation method is proposed.This calculation method adopts a new binary hyperbolic CORDIC algorithm in rotation mode(BHR CORDIC)that can be directly used to calculate the exponent with a base of 2.Furthermore,BHR CORDIC is used to implement computing the exponent of fixed-point numbers which is described as Verilog hardware description language(HDL).Based on the 65 nm complementary metal oxide semiconductor(CMOS)technology,the proposed calculation unit of the exponent of fixed-point numbers is synthesized and analyzed.The results show that the very large scale intergration circuit(VLSI)of exponent of fixed-point numbers calculation unit based on BHR CORDIC can save 11.92%area and 7.63%power consumption,and increase frequency by 2.45%when compared with the existing methods.
