摘　　要：光绪七年六月初,张之洞擢升内阁学士,兼礼部侍郎衔。借两江总督刘坤一开缺、军机大臣左宗棠补授江督之机,李鸿藻运作援引张之洞入直枢府,但未能实现。当时亦有引张之洞入总署之说,也为人所阻。李鸿藻愿意提携张之洞,与晚清同光中枢政局变化,内忧外患下清流力量渐起密切相关。在此背景下,举荐张之洞入枢,或许是李鸿藻主持枢府后的布局之一。此事之未成,乃囿于当事者之阻碍,也说明慈禧太后有意制约、平衡各方势力。因此才有了是年十一月张之洞外放山西巡抚之结果。The present paper,reconstructing the history,in which Zhang Zhidong,who was rising to prominence in the early Guangxu reign,failed to enter the central cabinet in spite of the effort made by other powerful of⁃ficials such as Li Hongzao,concludes that Zhang's case was an embodiment of the rise of qingliu(a group of high officials stressing morality)and the power balance favored by the conservatives such as Empress Dowager Cixi.
