摘　　要：裘帕·拉希莉小说《低地》讲述的是一个印度家庭的四代人围绕家乡托利冈吉的低地所演绎出的人生悲欢离合。“自然低地”是主人公高丽和婆婆比卓利无法摆脱的“侵扰记忆”,失去丈夫和儿子的那一幕就发生在那片低地。随后便是灵与肉的冲撞对抗的“婚姻低地”以及挥之不去如同梦魇的“亲情低地”。作者以低地为全书的隐藏线索与背景,以隐喻为主要艺术表现手法,既微小又宏大,让“低地”成为铺垫全书悲情基调的叙事装置,既是故事的起点,亦是终点,象征着时间的停滞与循环、历史与个人的连接、东西方文化的交融,以及爱、家园与责任的疗愈自我的旅程。Jhumpa Lahiri’s novel The Lowland is about four generations of an Indian family who demonstrate the joys and sorrows of life around the lowlands of their hometown—Toligangji.“Natural Lowland”is the“intrusive memory”that the protagonist Goryeo and mother-in-law Bizori cannot get rid of,and the scene of losing her husband and son takes place in that lowland.This is followed by the“lowlands of marriage”where spirit and flesh collide and the“lowlands of family affection”that haunts like a nightmare.The author takes the lowland as the hidden clue and background of the whole book,and metaphor as the main artistic expression technique,which is both tiny and grand,making“lowland”a narrative device that lays the tragic tone of the book,which is both the beginning and the end of the story,symbolizing the stagnation and cycle of time,the connection between history and the individual,the fusion of Eastern and Western culture and the journey of self-healing,love,home and responsibility.
