摘　　要：商务印书馆(1897—1949年)的两位重要主持者张元济和王云五,在文化理想、出版理念上体现了两代出版人共同的事业追求和社会担当,因时代和个性差异他们有迥异的管理风格,反映了两种类型管理者的思想和特征。张王二人为推动国家文化发展所做的不懈努力,昭示出前辈出版家的社会责任感和使命感,也展现了近代中国出版业发展中曲折多姿的一幕。Zhang Yuanji and Wang Yunwu,two important hosts of the Commercial Press(1897—1949),embodied the common career pursuit and social responsibility of the two generations of publishers in terms of cultural ideals and publishing ideas.Due to different times and personality differences,they had different management styles,reflecting the characteristics and ideological realm of the two types of managers.The unremitting efforts made by Zhang and Wang to promote the development of national culture show the sense of social responsibility and mission of the older publishers,and also show the twists and turns of the development of modern China’s publishing industry.
