《近距离:怀俄明故事》中的西部男性气质解构

摘　　要：西部牛仔因西部作品和政治力量的推动一度成为美国理想的男性气质形象。时至今日,牛仔神话仍在怀俄明州上演,以牛仔为代表的西部男性形象影响着该州甚至全美的男性气质构建。普鲁却在《近距离:怀俄明故事》中对西部男性群象进行了多角度解构,从经济驱动、女性视野及两/同性关系等多维度淋漓尽致地剖出恶劣环境中西部人善恶交织的情感与生活,挖出他们身上被隐去的恶习,解构了西部神话中善与恶的二元对立,直击怀俄明牧场上西部男性形象的虚伪与荒诞。Western cowboys once became the ideal masculinity image of the United States due to the promotion of western works and political forces.Today,the cowboy myth is still staged in Wyoming,and the western male image represented by cowboys affects the construction of masculinity in the state and even in the United States.However,Pru deconstructed the western male images from multiple perspectives in“Close Range:Wyoming Stories”,incisively and vividly dissected the feelings and lives of the people in the poor environment in the Midwest,which are intertwined with good and evil,dug out their hidden bad habits,deconstructed the binary opposition between good and evil in the western myth,and directly attacked the hypocrisy and absurdity of the western male images on the Wyoming pasture.
