摘  要:1950年,莱辛发表了处女作《野草在歌唱》,小说所揭露的南罗德西亚社会的殖民、种族、性别问题备受关注,而这些问题在女主人公玛丽的疯癫现象中得以集中体现。莱恩在《分裂的自我》中关于精神分裂的研究对解读玛丽的疯癫有重要参照意义。一方面,莱恩将疯癫的成因和患者的生存境地置于前景,当玛丽的崩溃呈现出与莱恩模型相吻合之处时,莱恩对自我和身体关系的研究为理解玛丽崩溃的原因及其生存状况提供了重要的启示;另一方面,莱恩并没有对自我和身体进行性别、种族、文化上的区分,当玛丽疯癫的轨迹呈现出与之相悖之处时,自我和身体的种族和性别维度就凸显了出来,玛丽的疯癫即构成对所在社会殖民主义、种族主义和性别主义的揭露和批判。In 1950,Doris Lessing published her first novel,The Grass Is Singing,a story set in South Rhodesia.Since then,the novel has been drawing critical attention with its exposure of colonialism,racism and sexism,issues that get a focal expression in the madness of Mary the protagonist.R.D.Laing's study of schizophrenia in The Divided Self provides an illuminating reference point for the interpretation of Mary's madness.For one thing,Laing's theory of"the divided self'foregrounds the causes of madness which are located in the patient's ontological and existential situation,and where Mary's collapse takes a similar course to that described in his model,his analysis of the self-body relation sheds an important light on the tensions and anxieties in Mary's existential situation.For another,Laing's self-body theory does not discriminate in regard to sex,race and culture,and where Mary's breakdown takes an almost diametrically different course from that in Laing's model,the racial and sexual dimensions of self and body are thereby spotlighted,which constitutes an exposure and critique of colonialism,racism and sexism in Southern Rhodesia.
