Due to the stable structure of the cooling tower, problems such as incomplete collapse and excessive stacking are prone to occur during directional demolition blasting. Therefore,in blasting design,a reasonable shape of the blasting cut is a key factor for the smooth blasting of the cooling tower.Taking the blasting demolition of two cooling towers in a power plant with the same structure and different shapes of blasting cuts as example, numerical simulation analysis was conducted using ANSYS/LS-DYNA software.By comparing numerical simulation of the two cooling towers with different shapes of blasting cuts and evaluating indicators such as pile height and bottom contact speed at the blasting construction site,it is found that the composite blasting cut is superior to the rectangular blasting cut design in terms of collapse range, pile height, and blasting vibration.
