英国文学的精神价值探析——以朱利安·巴恩斯的作品为例

摘　　要：为了解世界文化的多元性,该文以朱利安·巴恩斯的作品为例,开展英国文学精神价值的探析,分析英国文学的现实意义,阐述朱利安·巴恩斯创作特点。明确巴恩斯在其作品中并不使用“大叙述”的创作方法,而是通过对生活的描写,构建人物的成长历程,朱利安·巴恩斯文学作品所传递的文化精神,被称为“英国公共精神”,是指在当代社会中所孕育的一种民族精神,其本质是将“英国公共精神”看作英国文化、民族精神和民族认同的一种标志,反映了英国人民在各个时代的共同努力下所形成的一种精神;在巴恩斯早期的长篇小说中,历史事件只是为人物的发展提供了一个背景,并没有真正体现出巴恩斯本人的历史意识,由此可以证明朱利安·巴恩斯作品是具有较为显著的理性主义精神的。To understand the diversity of world culture,this study takes Julian Barnes'works as an example to explore the spiritual value of British literature,and analyzes the practical significance of British literature and elaborate on the creative characteristics of Julian Barnes.Clearly,Barnes did not use the"grand narrative"creative method in his works,but instead constructed the character's growth process through the description of life.The cultural spirit conveyed in Julian Barnes'literary works is called the"British Public Spirit",which refers to a national spirit nurtured in contemporary society.Its essence is to regard the"British Public Spirit"as a symbol of British culture,national spirit,and national identity,reflecting a spirit formed by the joint efforts of the British people in various eras.In Barnes'early novels,historical events only provided a background for the development of the characters and did not truly reflect Barnes'own historical consciousness,which can prove that Julian Barnes'works have a significant rationalist spirit.
