In order to reduce the environmental impact of CO_(2) generated during the preparation of conventional silicate cements. The geopolymer was prepared using metakaolin(MKL)as raw material, and the effect of different dosing levels of melamine water reducing agent(MWR)on the flow and mechanical properties of alkali-excited metakaolin geopolymer was investigated. The results of the study show that MWR does not improve the flowability of the metakaolin geopolymer slurry, but rather the high admixture of water reducing agent causes flow loss.In addition, the water content of the slurry decreases with increasing MWR admixture and the slurry has better flow and mechanical properties at 2%MWR admixture. The pore structure in the slurry increases as the MWR admixture increases. However, the high admixture of MWR facilitates the discharge of water from the slurry, which in turn increases the compressive strength of the slurry, thus causing the compressive strength of the slurry to first decrease and then increase.
