摘　　要：2022年8月,哈佛燕京图书馆迎来第四任馆长杨继东先生,笔者在哈佛大学量化社会科学研究所(IQSS)做访问学者期间对他进行了访谈。首先,杨馆长回顾自己学科交融的研究经历,分享管理多所美国顶尖高校图书馆东亚分馆的经验,阐明接任哈佛燕京图书馆的3个机缘,揭示当前面临的空间与人手的挑战以及应对措施。其次,杨馆长介绍哈佛燕京图书馆珍善本等特藏资源的建设现状与数字化进程,阐明学科服务的内容和方式,展望后疫情时代图书馆服务模式的变化。最后,杨馆长提出元宇宙技术应用于图书馆的见解,指出现今图书馆业的两大热门趋势即特藏与数字人文,巡礼哈佛与斯坦福的数字人文项目,并给出针对国内数字人文发展的建议。In August 2022,the Harvard-Yenching Library welcomed its fourth director,Mr.Yang Jidong,who was interviewed by Dr.Kong Fanjing and Dr.Qian Lixiang,visiting scholars from the Institute for Quantitative Social Science(IQSS)at Harvard University.Initially,Director Yang reviewed his interdisciplinary research experience,shared insights from his management positions in several esteemed U.S.colleges and universities,elucidated three opportunities in assuming the role of director at the Harvard-Yenching Library,and disclosed the existing challenges in terms of space and staffing,along with the corresponding measures to address them.Subsequently,Director Yang introduced the current status of construction and digitization efforts concerning special collections,such as rare books,within the Harvard-Yenching Library.He expounded upon the content and methodologies employed in subject services and expressed anticipation for changes in library service models in the post-pandemic era.Finally,Director Yang shared his perspectives on the utilization of metaverse technology in libraries,highlighting two prominent trends in the contemporary library industry:special collections and digital humanities.He appraised the digital humanities projects at both Harvard and Stanford Universities and provided recommendations for the development of digital humanities in China.
