从晚清汉英字典看中国文化关键词传播

摘　　要：19世纪初至清末,不到一百年的时间里,来华传教士编纂出版了近70部汉英双语词典。英国传教士罗伯特·马礼逊的《华英字典》是世界上首部汉英双语词典,也是晚清来华传教士编纂的汉英双语词典的典型代表。来华传教士的汉英双语词典编纂,直接开启了中国两百年的汉英双语词典编纂历史。从来华传教士汉英双语词典中对中国文化关键词的阐释可以看出,在跨文化交流的语境下,关键词的输出对文化传播具有不可忽视的价值与意义。在“西强我弱”的中西文化对话格局下,加大中国文化关键词的输出迫在眉睫。In less than a hundred years from the early 19th century to the end of the Qing Dynasty,missionaries to China compiled and published nearly 70 bilingual Chinese English dictionaries.The“Dictionary of the Chinese Language”edited by British missionary Robert Morrison is the world's first bilingual Chinese English dictionary.It is also a typical representative of bilingual Chinese English dictionaries of missionaries in the late Qing Dynasty.Missionaries who came to China directly opened up the 200 year history of bilingual dictionary compilation in China.The output of keywords has an undeniable value and significance for cultural dissemination in the context of cross-cultural communication.This is the conclusion drawn from the interpretation of Chinese cultural keywords in the Chinese English bilingual dictionary of missionaries.Compared to the West,Chinese cultural exports are in a disadvantaged position.So it is urgent to increase the output of Chinese cultural keywords in the context of the dialogue between Chinese and Western cultures.
