Human civilization and wetland have developed together and evolved together in thousands of years of history, creating a rich wetland culture. The current framework of wetland culture focuses on "culture" in a narrow sense. It is necessary to discuss the impact of wetlands on human beings in the broad context of "culture",in order to fully demonstrate the shaping role of wetlands as ecosystems on culture.Suzhou wetland is one of the typical representatives of wetlands deeply influenced by human beings, and its research framework of culture needs to be further expanded in the way of thinking and multiple dimensions of approaches. This paper tries to introduce the perspective of environmental history studies, through the exploration of cultural development of Suzhou wetlands based on the perspective of environmental history,to establish a new research framework applicable to the broad wetland culture, and to provide a new reference coordinate for in-depth review of Suzhou wetland culture, and academic studies and publications about Suzhou wetland culture.
