摘　　要：每个阶段的图书馆定义都具有明显的时代特征和核心内涵。我国的图书馆经历了四个发展阶段:近代图书馆时期,图书馆定义的核心内涵为图书馆是组织有益的图书,使公众以简单的方法,自由阅览的教育机关。现代图书馆前期,图书馆定义的核心内涵为图书馆是整理、宣传、流通图书资料,为人民使用图书资料和提高人民的政治水平服务的机关。现代图书馆后期,图书馆定义的核心内涵为图书馆是搜集、整理、保管、传播和利用图书情报资料,为一定社会的政治、经济服务的科学、教育、文化机构。复合图书馆时期,图书馆定义的核心内涵为图书馆是选择和利用文献信息的机构,是知识和文化的传递机制。图书馆定义中超过半数的核心关键词在近代图书馆时期已经出现,同时半数以上凋亡关键词亦属于近代图书馆时期。图书馆定义关键词的生长和凋亡均呈现出减缓的趋势,表明图书馆定义的内涵逐步趋于稳定。The definition of library in each phase has obvious contemporary features and core connotation.There are four development phases of librarianship in China.Modern library period,the core connotation of the definition of library is that library is an educational institution which organizes useful books and enables the public to read them freely in a simple way.Early stage of contemporary library period,the core connotation of the definition of library is that library is an institution that sorts,publicizes and circulates books and materials,provides services for the use of books and materials and improves the political accomplishment of the people.Late stage of contemporary library period,the core connotation of the definition of library is that library is a scientific,educational and cultural institution that collects,sorts,stores,disseminates and utilizes books and information materials,serves the political and economic interests of a given society.Compound library period,the core connotation of the definition of library is that library is an institution that selects and utilizes document information,and a transmission mechanism of knowledge and culture.More than half of the core keywords in the definition of library have appeared in the modern library period,and more than half of the apoptotic keywords also belong to the modern library period.The growth and apoptosis of keywords of library definition showed a slowing trend,indicating that the connotation of library definition gradually tended to be stable.
