摘　　要：本文把私家车库这一有具体功能属性的房间作为考察的主体,研究其如何反映并进一步塑造了美国郊区文化及相应家庭的生活方式。在此基础上,将车库置于现代城市发展的叙事中,研究其如何响应了现代性与个人主义。This article takes‘Garage’–a room specifically attributed–as the subject of examination and studies how it reflects and further shapes the suburb culture as well as lifestyle in America.Furthermore,this article places the garage at the center of the narrative of urbanization and studies how it responds to modernity and individualism.
