Trace elements are essential for the growth, development and reproduction of livestock and poultry.Lack of trace elements can lead to growth retardation, immunodeficiency and reproductive disorders, which seriously affect the efficiency of animal breeding.Currently, trace elements are often supplemented to feed in the form of excessive inorganic salts to meet the needs of animals, but this greatly increases the discharge of trace elements in feces and pollutes the ecological environment.Recent studies have found that the absorption and utilization rates of organic trace elements are higher than those of inorganic trace elements, which can reduce the emission of trace elements in livestock and poultry, but the relevant mechanism is still not very clear. In this paper, the absorption pathways of organic and organic forms of iron, copper, manganese, and zinc are elucidated based on the results of existing studies to provide a theoretical reference for the development and application of trace element preparations in livestock and poultry breeding.
