Diabetes peripheral neuropathy(DPN)is the most common chronic complication of type 1 and type 2 diabetes. The disordered endocrine state of diabetic patients can cause many metabolic abnormalities.Lipid metabolism is closely related to the pathogenesis of DPN,and its metabolites have different regulatory functions on neural function. As an important substrate in lipid metabolism, fatty acids participate in the formation of cell membrane, maintain the normal function of cell membrane and are related to the formation of myelin sheath in the peripheral nervous system. Therefore, fatty acid disorder may be closely related to the occurrence and development of DPN,but the academic community has not paid enough attention to it.Further study on the correlation between abnormal lipid metabolism caused by fatty acid disorders and the occurrence and development of DPN may provide new ideas for the treatment of DPN.
