The effects of rare earth microfertilizer with different c oncentration gradients on the physiological characteristics of Taxus chinensis were studied by spraying and irrigation of 3-year old clones of Tchinensis. The results showed that within a certain concentration range, the contents of chlorophyll, carotenoid,SP,POD and CAT in leaves of T.chinensisinitially increased and then decreased with the rise of rare earth microfertilizer concentration.Spraying 0.15 mmol·L^(-1)rare earth microfertilizer produced the highest synchromine contentwhile the highestcontent of synchromes was observed when 0.05 mg·plant^(-1)of rare earth microfertilizer was used foeirrigation. When the spray ing concentration ex-ceeded 1.05 mmol·L^(-1)and the irrigation amount exceeded 0.40 mg·plant^(-1),the MDA content began to increase and signifcantly exceeded that of the control.Notably,SP.POD and CAT activities exhibited asignificant increasewith 0.15 mmol.L+spraying treatment and 0.29 mg·plant^(-1)irri-gation treatment. The results demonstrated that a proper concentration of rare earth micro-fertilizer treatment could effectively promote the growth of T.chinensis.
