论《柳文指要》的“辟桐城而颂阳湖”

摘　　要：《柳文指要》是章士钊在晚年撰写的一部疏解柳(宗元)文的学术名著,出版以后,反响很大。该书具有严重的扬柳抑韩(愈)倾向。桐城派、阳湖派(从桐城派分化出来)是清朝的二个散文流派,桐城派学宗韩愈,阳湖派文近柳宗元。桐城派因为宗韩,受到扬柳抑韩的《柳文指要》的批评(辟),阳湖派因为文风近柳,受到《柳文指要》的赞扬(颂)。这便是毛泽东所说的“辟桐城而颂阳湖”。《柳文指要》主要从人物和文风两个方面来“辟桐城”,但直接“颂阳湖”的文字并不多,只是在字里行间能间接见到一些。Liu Wen Zhi Yao is an academic masterpiece written by Zhang Shizhao in his later years that elucidates Liu(Zongyuan)’s writings.After its publication,it received a great response.The book has a serious tendency to praise Liu Zongyuan and criticize Han Yu.The Tongcheng School and the Yanghu School(differentiated from the Tongcheng School)are two prose schools of the Qing Dynasty,with the Tongcheng School studying Han Yu and the Yanghu School close to Liu Zongyuan.The Tongcheng School is criticized in Liu Wen Zhi Yao,while the Yanghu School praised by Liu Wen Zhi Yao,which has been referred by Mao Zedong.Liu Wen Zhi Yao mainly criticizes Tongcheng School from two aspects:characters and literary style,but there are not many words directly praising Yanghu School,within which only some can be seen indirectly between the lines.
